At least 3 hurt in Brookfield fire
Three people were taken to the emergency department at Loyola University Medical Center from a house fire in the 3500 block of Park Avenue in Brookfield this evening, said a hospital spokeswoman.
Firefighters and emergency medical personnel from several surrounding communities responded to the fire at about 7 p.m., according to a Riverside fire official. A Brookfield fire dispatcher confirmed that trucks from her department were on the scene.
A MacNeal Hospital spokeswoman in Berwyn said that hospital was not treating any victims of the fire. It was unclear if other medical centers in the area had received patients. Further information was not immediately available.
